“ Faculty and support staff, both past and present, have enabled UCT to take its place amongst the world’s leading Research Universities, and their contribution we must continue to acknowledge. Over the last few decades, and particularly since my graduation in the mid-seventies, UCT has focused on making possible access to those previously denied the opportunity we then enjoyed. UCT’s scholarship, teaching and research capability, together with its focus on access, underpin my continuing backing, and above all, service on the Board of Trustees”.
