UCT Alumni and Friends gathered at the home of Sir Vernon and Lady Ellis in central London for a concert featuring a group of prodigiously talented young students from the UCT Opera School. The Programme included arias and ensembles from Don Giovanni, Der Fledermaus, Der Rosenkavalier, Lakme and Orphee aux Enfers, amongst others. Dr Lisa Engelbrecht, Head Vocal Coach at UCT Opera School, accompanied the singers: Goitsemang Lehobye, Amanda Meke, Martin Mkhize, Maudee Montierre, and Johannes Slabbert.

This concert was staged to raise funds for the Opera School, in order to help ensure a legacy for future generations in the study and performance of Opera in South Africa. To make your contribution to the fundraising effort, please contact uct-trust@tecres.net or visit the Support UCT page.

UCT Trust is enormously grateful to Sir Vernon and Lady Ellis for kindly hosting this concert at their home in South Kensington, and to Solms-Delta for providing the wine.
