Dr Patti Silbert
Project Manager, Schools Improvement Initiative
The inequality gap among schools in South Africa continues to pose serious challenges for higher education and bears a negative impact on the country’s development. The Schools Improvement Initiative (SII) was launched in Khayelitsha to address this crisis by harnessing the university’s broader resources, and fostering partnerships and collaboration with education-related groups to improve the quality of education in the Province.
Dr Patti Silbert has been Project Manager of the SII, since its launch in 2012. Her main interests are developing school improvement models through partnership, interdisciplinarity and collaboration, school organisation and management, and developing mechanisms for monitoring and sustaining school change.
You are invited to join fellow UCT Alumni and friends for an update on the progress of this important social responsiveness initiative.
