This publication’s news features align with Vision 2030, the University of Cape Town’s new strategic plan for the future, built on three pillars: Excellence, Transformation and Sustainability. Other highlights include a focus on UCT’s incredible research contribution, an interview with Ms. Yandiswa Xhakaza on the launch of the UCT Online High School as well as a profile on the UCT Community of Hope Vaccination Centre, an innovative partnership between UCT and the Western Cape government. You can read all about ‘Alumni in Action’, a campaign initiated by Ms. Zellah Fuphe in support of UCT students impacted by Gender Based Violence. On page 42, recently elected UCT President of Convocation Mr Carl Manlan, discusses the importance of alumni volunteerism and, a wonderful tribute to the late Dr Stuart Saunders can be found on page 38.
